I have a friend of the family who always asks to borrow money. I always let him borrow what he wants, when he wants. I'm the kinda of guy who likes to help others. What I can't stand is the reaction I get when I ask for the borrowed money back. Usually he asks for more money before he pays back what he owes. So the debt to me keeps adding up.
This time he owed me close to $500 all together stemming back to around October. At first it was only $100, then more, and then more. I felt bad that he owed me so much money before Christmas so I said he could just wait and pay me after Christmas.
Well here it is, February, and I finally decided I would ask for the remainder of what what he owed me. Just as I thought, he got mad about it. Now he isn't talking to me because of the situation. WHY! I do someone a favor and this is the way they repay me! That just ain't right.
